We love looking at our own family or personal vacation photo albums, but we may be wondering how to share our vacation photos with other people in a way that is enjoyable and interesting.

Other things to think about with our digital capabilities include how to make a great photo vacation video and how to share digitally or show real physical prints, either as enlargements or a vacation photo book.

Take Many – Show Few

Remember those slide shows at your uncle’s house when you were a kid? How bored were you? Some of the vacation photos may have been beautiful and the vacation itself was likely a whole lot of fun, but showing tray after tray of slides diluted all the good pics with lots of mediocre and some very bad shots.

The point of that trip down memory lane is to highlight what we always need to do regarding showing our photography, cull out the poor shots and show our best. A few very good vacation photo images will be received better than a bunch of just okay pics, so edit yourself critically.

Shoot and Edit Video or Make Slideshows

That same principle holds true for any videos we take and share. Editing software is easier than it ever was, so showing highlights of a few choice bits of footage will be more appreciated than lots of dead time in a bunch of videos, just waiting for something to happen or be done.

We also have the ability with digital still images to create a video montage, a virtual slideshow, of our best vacation photos. The trick here is to not get too enamored of all the ‘gee-whiz’ transitional tools, simple and easy to view is often the best approach for showing our vacation photo virtual slideshow.

Photo albums for vacation photos still exist and there are a number of methods used to put the photos in, some more permanent than others. Many online photo finishers also provide pre-printed books of your photos which is a fantastic option.

These photo books are similar to a coffee table book but they’re all our own photos! During the holiday season, many of these sites run promotional specials that make the production of these books very affordable, affordable enough to give out as gifts.

Photo Frames

When considering how to display vacation photo frames, why not go with an enlargement option that doesn’t even need a frame? Such as acrylic prints, canvas wrap, or metal prints. Of course, you can put these types of prints in a frame, but you don’t have to, opening up some fun display ideas.

In-person and on social media, when we share our images, including any vacation photo, it’s important to interact positively with our audience. This brings people back to our image and creates goodwill between artist and viewer.

All of this after the shutter click work is an important part of our photography. It can be a whole lot of fun for us and for anyone looking at our vacation photos.
